Description
Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra (now in 154th year) has been
invited to put on another concert at the newly restored Gorton Monastery, Gorton
Lane on Sunday 13th July. Their first concert in July last year was a sell-out
and we are expecting a similar response this year.
The concert will be at 7.30pm on Sunday 13th July and the
programme will be:
Carnival Romain Overture (Berlioz); The Lark
Ascending (Vaughan Williams) - Soloist: Rolf Wilson - Karelia Suite
(Sibelius); Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 (Elgar) and The
Planets (Holst). The concert will be conducted by the Orchestra's
Musical Director, Nicholas Simpson.
Tickets (£12 each) will be available in April from Norman
