Subject - Carers Week 2008

The countdown to this year's Carers Week 2008 event is well and truly underway. It is the BIGGEST partnership event of the year to showcase carers' services in Manchester. For one day only, carers and professionals alike can find out all they need to know about all things 'carer' under one roof.

Last year attracted over 400 people, many of whom were new carers who were introduced to a new world of support and information.

How you can get involved:
* Come along to promote your service on the day (Complete the stall booking form by Friday 16 May )
* Bring along carers you know so they can benefit from all the information on offer
* Advertise the event in all of your newsletters, websites etc
* Put up posters far and wide to get the message to as many carers as possible (Posters will be sent to all services asap)
* Get thinking! Do you have any ideas about how the day can be the best it can be?

Do you know carers who would like to speak about how your service changed their life as a carer?

Are there any services that you know of that should be at the event to give information to carers?

Do you know creative carers who would like to showcase their talents – whether it be art, singing, dancing or drama?

Do you have contacts who could help to make the day a success – eg. provide entertainment or provide decorations for the venue?

The general format for the day will be similar to last year - information stalls, as well as pampering and entertainment too - so get thinking about how this year's event can be made extra special!

PLEASE NOTE: In the event of receiving more applications than there are stalls available, some services will not be allocated a stall of their own.
