All young people from the ages of 13 to 24 (if sexually active) are being advised to have a test for Chlamydia every year. It is a new NHS Screening Programme. In Manchester one in nine young people have Chlamydia and if left untreated to can cause infertility. Over the past year they have set up over 500 screening sites and 150 treatment sites around greater Manchester. They have tested 26,000 young people so far.
