Subject - Criminal Record Bureau Checking: new umbrella body

Posted : (Tuesday 13th February 2007 ) By - Jane (Registered User)The Quality Living Scheme, a charity based in Hulme, is an umbrella body for Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checking.

If you were to use them as an umbrella CRB body the process would be as follows:
- you contact them to let them know that you are interested and how many forms you will need.
- the Scheme send the appropriate number of forms to you
- you get the form filled out by the candidate in your usual manner, so at this stage you need to take copies of the candidate's ID and check that they have completed the form with black pen and appropriately
- then once you have returned the forms to the Quality Living Scheme along with photocopies of the candidate's two forms of ID, they will carry out all the necessary administration and correspondence with the Criminal Records Bureau.
This can be quite time consuming and this is where, by using the Scheme's service you will be saving your time.
- then a completed CRB is sent to your candidate as well as yourselves.

The Quality Living Scheme charge £11 for a volunteer check; £40 for a standard check (employed staff) and £47 for an enhanced check.

The benefit of this service is that it is hassle free for you as they are doing all the leg work on your behalf.
